This is the brief report format.

Eco-Justice Ministries has not had an opportunity to see this resource.
The information presented here has been gathered from other sources.

Short Description:   These materials provide a flexible 6 day program focusing specifically on care of Godīs creation. The curriculum is designed for a church camp setting.
Long Description:

There are six daily discoveries, each with a focus scripture and an environmental connection:

  1. Itīs about Relationship (Genesis 2:4b-23)- Sustainability
  2. Itīs All Good (Genesis 1:1-25) - Web of Life
  3. Itīs a Matter of Choice (Genesis 6:11-9:17) - Conservation
  4. Itīs about Trust (Luke 12:13-32) - Simplicity
  5. Itīs What We Do (Matthew 25:14-30) - Stewardship
  6. Itīs Good News (Mark 16:9-20) - Eco-justice
In addition to daily themes and activities Handle with Care includes a theme-specific chapter written by the Eco-Justice Program of the NCC. A section on Greening for Outdoor Ministries Facilities provides lots of practical ideas about how to green current camp sites and facilities, how to plan for more efficient facilities, and how to bring a culture of sustainability into programmings every year.

The United Church Press description of the resources provides more detailed information than the website from the National Council of Churches.

A 30-page sampler of the curriculum can be downloaded [PDF - 1.2 Mb].
