David Clough, professor of Theological Ethics with the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Chester (UK) and a lay preacher in the Methodist Church, will talk about his soon to be published On Animals II: Theological Ethics, described as the first substantive modern academic monograph focused on the Christian ethics of the human treatment of animals that sets out the radical implications of taking animals seriously in the context of Christian ethics.
Prof. Clough’s work has been called "indisputably the most important and comprehensive theological treatment of animals to have appeared in any language at any time in the Christian tradition." |November 17, 2018 -- BENEFIT CONCERT|
Our good friends of Messiah Community Church in Denver are hosting a benefit concert on Saturday, November 17, with all proceeds to be donated to Eco-Justice Ministries. "Songs for the Earth" will be held at the church, 1750 Colorado Blvd, in Denver, beginning at 2:00 PM. Admission is a $5 minimum donation per person. |January 6, 2019 -- CLASS ON THE 2018 IPCC REPORT|
|Rev. Peter Sawtell, Executive Director of Eco-Justice Ministries, will be leading two conversations at Mountain View United Methodist Church, Boulder, CO, with classes at both 9:00 and 10:30 AM.
In early October, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a major report on climate change and options for action. Peter will share information and reflections on the IPCC report, and facilitate a conversation about urgency, challenges and hope.

|February 8-9, 2019 -- FRONT RANGE ECO-SOCIAL SOLUTIONS|
This annual conference, held on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado, is the local expression of the Bioneers Network.
There will be over 20 sessions and workshops on topics of local importance and solutions that are relevant to the Front Range, and re-broadcasts of presentations from the national Bioneers conference.
This event will be FREE and open to the community.

|April 26-27, 2019 (tentative) -- "GREENING CHURCHES" CONFERENCE|
Planning is underway for an event on April 26-27 2019. The focus will be on “How to make our places-of-worship green” -- so these places stop doing harm -- so they are consistent with our creation care beliefs -- they are on a path to zero GHG emissions in compliance with the 2015 Paris Agreement -- they better reflect our respect for all life, they even begin to mimic nature by honorably harvesting the daily gift of energy from the Sun.
